Death Eater bridge attack
London's pedestrian Millennium Bridge appears in the opening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, where it is twisted apart during a Death Eater attack. The real bridge remains a popular Thames crossing between St Paul's Cathedral and Tate Modern.

Approach from the north via St Paul's Cathedral and Peter's Hill, or from the south via Tate Modern and Bankside. Mansion House, Blackfriars, St Paul's and London Bridge stations are within walking distance.
The bridge is pedestrian-only. Walking south gives the classic view back towards St Paul's, while the South Bank connects easily with Shakespeare's Globe and Borough Market.
Check current bridge notices before making a special journey, as maintenance, high winds or major events can occasionally restrict access.
Crossing the bridge is free and it is normally open around the clock. Temporary works or safety closures can occur without being part of an attraction timetable.
There is no bridge parking and central London road restrictions make driving inconvenient. Use public transport and include the bridge in a walking route through the City or South Bank.
The bridge is step-free with gently sloping approaches, but the walking surface is exposed to weather and can become crowded. Confirm lift status and step-free routes at your chosen nearby station.
There are no facilities on the bridge itself. Toilets, cafés and seating are available at nearby cultural venues and along Bankside.
